Stat-X System is installed on tugboats
The French Navy is renewing its fleet of tugboats.
Twenty-nine tugboats will be built as part of the RP10 programme to renew the port facilities in service in Brest, Toulon and Cherbourg, but also in Martinique, New Caledonia, Polynesia, Reunion Island, Mayotte as well as Djibouti and Dakar.
These vessels are intended to support the port operations of the French Navy’s surface and submarine vessels
It is the group bringing together the Chantiers Merré and CMN that won the contract.
The first vessel made by the Merré shipyard was launched on 10 January 2018. She was baptized “l’Aigrette” and began her verification tests.
Four tugboats are under construction for delivery in early 2019.
For the protection of the engine room from fire, the group chose GS Environnement and the STAT-X condensed aerosol system.
